Edward “Rawhide” Rawlings has been a mainstay of the middle Tennessee Bluegrass scene for many years. Rawhide does double duty these days as bass player for both The Holt Brothers Band and for Queen City Grass.
He is a leading authority on antique John Deere tractors. He shares his collection with folks throughout the region by displaying them at various functions. He has also built hot rod autos and has worked on steam engines. Rawhide is also noted for making the finest sorghum available today.
Rawhide retired from Trane after forty years. He and his wife,Alene, have three daughters and six grandchildren. We often refer to Rawhide as our goodwill ambassador as he makes new fans wherever he plays.
